How to Help
Volunteers
Volunteers make it possible for NaNa's House to provide care at no cost to the families we serve. One to three volunteers are needed every day that children are on site. Most volunteers work for 3 to 4 hours each time they come.
When children are on site we try to assign one volunteer to each child. Activities might include reading, playing board games, playing outside, working with puppets and costumes for impromptu performances, painting and coloring, helping with homework or simply listening and comforting. Volunteers help the children with their personal hygiene (changing diapers, washing up for meals, preparing for bed) and help them keep their rooms and play areas in order. If no children are on site, volunteers help with basic housekeeping chores as well as sorting donations.
Teams of volunteers from churches and schools are also needed to tackle big projects like the annual garage sale or picnic in the park, to host a weekend or summer overnight for the neighborhood children, and to take on major cleaning, landscaping or painting projects.

Financial Contributions
The work at NaNa's House has been possible because many, many people volunteer their time, give financially and donate food and supplies. You can help support NaNa's House by making a tax-deductible donation to Magnificat Center, an IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Go to www.justgive.org by clicking the link at the left side of this page. Donations from monthly donors help pay utilities, housing costs, transportation and the salaries of childcare staff.
Our very greatest financial need is funding to pay permanent childcare staff.
$40.00 will allow NaNa's House to be open for neighborhood children one more afternoon.
$80.00 will provide a full day of care for homeless children.
$200.00 will pay three shifts of paid staff to care for four children overnight.

Donation of Goods
NaNa's House is always in need of household goods and non-perishable food items for use on-site or to distribute to families in need. If you are able to make a donation, please send us an e-mail to coordinate a delivery time.
